Social justice for tsunami survivors
Tourism Concern is campaigning to protect the rights of communities devastated by the 2004 tsunami in India and Sri Lanka from unsustainable tourism developments, which are threatening both their homes and their livelihoods.
UK tour operators still supporting Burma’s dictatorship
UK tour operators are using hotels and resorts with known links to Burma’s military dictatorship. This includes establishments listed under European trade sanctions because they are owned or directed by members of the regime and their associates.
Tourism Concern is urging tour operators to stop going to Burma until democracy has been restored. We are calling on the UK Government to fulfil its legal obligations by implementing legislation that reflects the European trade restrictions.
