UK tour operators still supporting Burma’s dictatorship

Recent events in Burma have highlighted the need for Tourists to stay awayUK tour operators are using hotels and resorts with known links to Burma’s military dictatorship. This includes establishments listed under European trade sanctions because they are owned or directed by members of the regime and their associates.

Tourism Concern is urging tour operators to stop going to Burma until democracy has been restored. We are calling on the UK Government to fulfil its legal obligations by implementing legislation that reflects the European trade restrictions.
